Program Description

Event Details

To celebrate Flossmoor’s Centennial, the library will host a book club, this summer only, that discusses titles released in the early 1920s era. All are welcome and refreshments will be served. In June we will discuss The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald (1925). The library will have extra copies available for checkout three weeks prior to the discussion date. Please arrive at the meeting having read the book and ready for discussion.

Book Description:

Perhaps the most celebrated book of the early 20th century, The Great Gatsby tells the story of Jay Gatsby, a self-made man who dreams of turning back time to regain his first love, Daisy Buchanan. In the process, the novel explores the culture of the Roaring Twenties, class in America, and the dangerous allure of the American Dream.
